Win for our mixed team at St. George's Hill

Our mixed team had a fine result against St. George's Hill emerging winners by 8 1/2 sets to 7 1/2, which was a reversal of last year's heavy defeat. A great afternoon of tennis, on grass, was capped off by the usual convivial post-match tea around the beautiful lake.

This year's match was payed at CourtX in Southsea and coupled with the well-planned social activities everyone had a great time. The match result was 14-8 in our favour but in reality the score is irrelevant as we continue with this long-standing friendly fixture. Men lose to strong IC of GB

Our men lost their first match of the season overall 1-7 to a strong IC of GB team. Our only win was in the 60+ age group. However, this long-standing quality fixture once again delivered great tennis, topped off with a very sociable meal around the St. George's Hill LTC lake.

Our Wimbledon Cocktail Party held on the first Wednesday of The Championships, once again proved to be a great success. Over 180 members and guests enjoyed a delightful evening and our thanks once again go to The AELT&CC for supporting our social event.

Defeat for our ladies 4-5 (rubbers) against a strong Byfleet team

A narrow loss for our ladies in their 2nd match of the season against a dogged and competent Byfleet team by 4 rubbers to 5. Our 1st pair remained unbeaten on the day. An excellent post-match tea softened the hardness of defeat!

British Masters Open Clay Court - Bournemouth

Congratulations to all Club Members who won events and reached finals at the British Masters Open Clay Court Championships held in Bournemouth 24 May - 1 June. It required great flexibility from both organisers and players to get the tournament completed on time, despite the weather being determined to produce another outcome! World Masters 50, 55 & 60 Championships in Mexico

Congratulations to all Club members who competed at the recent World Masters Team Championships held in Mexico 28 April - 3 May. Special mention for Jo Shepherd (team captain) and Georgina Bartholomew who were part of the GB W50 Maria Bueno Cup Team winning gold, beating Italy in a quality final. All members are now invited to apply for tickets to our flagship Wimbledon Cocktail Party on the evening of the 3rd July 2024. An application form is available for download from our Events Page and it will also be circulated with the next eNewsletter. Our *closing date* for ticket applications is Sunday 23rd June.

Our 65th Anniversary Celebration at the House of Lords on Friday 17th May was a great success. The 60 (HoL limitation) members and guests enjoyed a convivial evening perfectly hosted by Lord O'Donnell. See the Photo Gallery/Events page for some images of the evening.
